Below are some resources from Dr. Esther Hui's research.

Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) is the only non-drug treatment recommended by the UK National guidelines (National Institute for Health and Excellence) to improve cognition in those with dementia.

Dr. Esther Hui developed a virtual and individual version suitable for those who prefer to receive therapy on a one-to-one basis/remotely.

Aside from developing Virtual Individual Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (Virtual iCST) in English, Esther also culturally adapted and translated it into Chinese (Cantonese) for people in Hong Kong to use.

While we know that Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) works, it is hard to tell whether therapists deliver the treatment as they are supposed to. In clinical trials for drugs, measuring whether participants took a drug is relatively straightforward. However, human interactions are more nuanced in therapies. Dr. Esther Hui developed a fidelity tool to help us understand whether therapists deliver CST (in-person/virtually) correctly.

Dr. Esther Hui has also developed a fidelity tool to measure whether individual CST (iCST) therapists adhere to protocol.
